Flight schedule to Brussels
Brussels is one of those cities that remains forever in the heart of everyone who has visited it. The Belgian capital is a colorful, welcoming place filled with people from all over the world. The city is also called the "Capital of the European Union", because of the official seats of some EU institutions located there.
Brussels, ancient and modern at the same time, will impress you with its charming architecture, designer stores and tremendous parks.
Stroll the main square, visit the Royal Palace and see the remarkable Atomium. Don't miss the Manneken Pis statue, emblematic of Brussels. An interesting fact is that the Peeing Boy has a wardrobe of over a thousand costumes. They have been gifted by kings, designers and celebrities, and the tradition of wearing it dates back to the 17th century.
Continue your walk to the Palace of Justice, which will impress you not only with its beauty, but also with its size – the building is larger than St. Peter's Basilica in Rome. Take a guided tour of the European Parliament, explore the Belgian Royal Museum of Fine Arts and beautiful cathedrals in different architectural styles, and if you're in the mood for something exotic, visit the African Museum. There you will find various stuffed specimens, even an elephant, typical African clothing and musical instruments. You will also have the chance to try traditional African dishes and enjoy a glass of African beer.
Don't miss Brussels' typical seafood specialties, try the famous Belgian waffles, and if you're a fan of beer, be sure to try the Trappist beer made by Trappist monks, as well as the geuze beer, a spontaneously fermented beer with wild yeast, distinguished by its tart taste.
If your thirst for adventure is still not quenched, visit the Beer Museum - there you will learn how traditional Belgian beers are made. Another interesting stop in Brussels is the Cocoa and Chocolate Museum, where you will have the opportunity to taste candies and see how they are made.
Once every two years, the city square is covered in a carpet of flowers – in case your visit to Brussels coincides with this colorful event, you must see it. If you are in the Belgian capital in winter – immerse yourself in the festive tale of the traditional Christmas markets.
