What is the "Unaccompanied minor"(UM) service and for whom it is applicable?

• For children between 3 and 5 years old we provide an escort - flight attendant who will pick the child up from the person who is escorting him/her at the departure airport, will be next to the child during all airport procedures until boarding the plane, personally take care of the child's safe journey during the flight and will hand him/her over to the welcoming person at the arrival airport.
  The full ticket fare is payable for the child (without a child's discount), plus 50% of the one-way fare in the M class and two-way airport taxes for the escort flight attendant.
• For children between 5 and 11 years old a staff member is provided to welcome it from the escorting person at the departure airport, as well as a person to hand him over to the welcoming person at the arrival airport.
  The full ticket fare is payable for the child (without a child's discount), plus a UM fee of 60 euros per segment for international flights. For the following destinations Lisbon, Malaga, Palma de Mallorca, Tel Aviv*, Moscow, St Petersburg, Amsterdam, Madrid, Paris, London* and Barcelona, the fare is EUR 70 per leg.The fee for domestic flights is EUR 40 per direction.
• Per parents request, children between 12 and 18 years old could also take advantage from the "Unaccompanied child" service, against payment of the UM fee. They are provided the same service as for children between 5 and 11 years of age.

How do you benefit from the service?

• You should make your inquiry at least two weeks prior the flight at callfb@air.bg;
• After confirmation from the Customer Service Centre, the age and date of birth of the child must be entered in the reservation, as well as information about the escorting person at the departure airport and the welcoming person the arrival airport - names, telephones and addresses;
• A form with the information from the reservation must be filled in, which can be done at an airport before flight or downloaded in advance from www.air.bg, completed and handed over to a check-in before flight.
• If the flight is operated by another airline other conditions may apply. If you want to request the service for unaccompanied minor you must contact the customer service centre of Bulgaria Air at telephone +359 2 40 20 400 or by e-mail: callFB@air.bg.

Several important clarifications:

• Your child must carry a valid passport with him/her and for domestic flights it may be replaced by a birth certificate - an original or a copy of it certified by a Notary;
• Bulgaria Air accepts unaccompanied minors on their flights transferring at Sofia Airport only with provided contacts and assured a meeting person at the transfer point;
• One flight attendant can accompany two children from same family - brothers and sister;
• For two children from same family who travel together is paid a single UM fee.

* For Sofia-London the fee is 70 euro and for London-Sofia it is 70 pounds , Sofia-Zurich 70 euro, Zurich-Sofia 70 CHF, Sofia-Tel Aviv is 70 euro , and from Tel Aviv to Sofia 70 USD.
