Flight schedule to Bucharest
Bucharest is the capital of Romania. It is located less than 70 km. from the Danube river and from the Bulgarian border. Bucharest is called "Europe's best kept secret" because of the bars, galleries and museums you find around every corner. It is also called "Little Paris" - the buildings, the river and the Arc de Triomphe, built in honor of the soldiers of the First World War, play a role here.
Bucharest is a multifaceted and dynamic city with impressive architecture. You can't miss the Palace of the Parliament (Palatul Parlamentului) - the second largest administrative building in the world, 86 m high and 270 m wide. Like any city with a long history, Bucharest has a charming old part. On Lipskani Street and its surroundings you will find antique shops, small boutiques, art galleries, bars and restaurants. The area is also home to Bucharest's oldest building - the Old Prince's Court (Curtea Veche) - a curious fact is that it was built by the legendary Vlad the Impaler or Vlad Dracula!
The beautiful Romanian Athenaeum is the most prestigious concert hall in the capital, and in the halls of the Royal Palace (National Art Museum) you can see a remarkable art collection of European works: Rembrandt and El Greco are here.
Karol I Park is one of the most beautiful in Bucharest, and in the summer it is a place for many festivals and concerts. Pleasant for rest, picnic or sports is Cesmidjiu Park, located around the lake of the same name in the center of the city.
If you are interested in the Romanian way of life and culture, the Museum of the Romanian Peasant will be of particular interest to you. The village museum has a collection of 50 steep-roofed houses, thatched huts, churches and mills from all over Romania and is the largest open-air museum in Europe. In June, the Festival of Traditional Crafts takes place here, and another worthwhile event in Bucharest is the Jazz Festival, which gathers talents for a whole week in May.
