Vienna, the capital of Austria and its largest city, is located on both banks of the Danube River and is worth a visit in any season. Around the world, the Austrian capital is also known as the "city of music" since it was home to Beethoven, Mozart and Schubert, and also as the "city of dreams" because of Sigmund Freud.

Vienna is a city rich in both tradition and culture, as well as a modern youthful spirit, and has something to offer every visitor.

Start your walk at the imposing Gothic St. Stephen's Cathedral - it will impress you with its tower reaching 137 meters in height. Continue to the majestic Town Hall building, built in the Gothic style in 1883. Be sure to see the Parliament building and the Danube Tower, which offers a panoramic view of the city, the river and the Vienna Woods. A must next stop is the remarkable Prater, where you can ride the Austrian capital's iconic Ferris wheel.

For art and culture lovers, Vienna has an array of museums, galleries and palaces – check out the Museum of Fine Arts, Albertina Museum, Natural History Museum, Hundertwasser Museum and Sigmund Freud Museum, Schönbrunn Palace, Belvedere Palace and Hofburg Palace.

To end your vacation, go shopping – on the streets Mariahilfer Strasse, Neubaugasse, Kerntner Strasse, Graben and Kohlmarkt, numerous stores for clothes, shoes and jewelry await you.

Speaking of Vienna, it should also be noted that nearly 300 balls are held there only in the period January - March! The Austrian capital is also home to some of the most famous and memorable festivals – the International Music Festival and Jazz Festival in May and June, as well as the Music Film Festival in July and August.

It is curious about Vienna that the first paperweight was invented here - in 1900, the mechanic Erwin Perzi tried to create a brighter surgical lamp by adding water and semolina flakes to an ordinary light bulb. The attempt was unsuccessful, but it gave the idea for the "snow" decoration that everyone knows today.
