Bulgaria Air pilot Zlatina Batishteva talked about her journey to the sky on Bulgaria ON AIR
On the International Day of Civil Aviation - 7 December, the pilot of the national airline Zlatina Batischeva was a special guest in the morning block Bulgaria Morning on Saturday on the air of Bulgaria ON AIR. She shared with the viewers her inspiring story about the path from childhood dream to its realization in the clouds 20 years later, and told about the challenges and the pleasure of the pilot's profession.
"Initially a person has to pass a test for medical fitness, then they start a course - theoretical, practical, they have to take exams, and then become a pilot. Hard work and constant reading are the keys to success," she said, stressing that while the first steps were challenging, with time and experience the job became routine.
Batishteva revealed that the work of pilots in the Bulgaria Air team requires a lot of dedication, constant training, including participation in simulations of various emergency situations on board. "Nowadays there are more and more women pilots and I am very happy about it. There are many good women pilots, and there are many good men pilots. It's not about gender," Batishteva said in the interview.
