Bulgaria Air won again the big Airline of the Year award at Sky Awards 2019

The national carrier of Bulgaria was honored with the highest award at the prestigious aviation competition Sky Awards for a second consecutive year. On its 17th birthday, at a glamorous ceremony on December 4th among aviation and travel experts from all over the world, Bulgaria Air was honored with the SKY AWARD 2019. The prize is given to the most preferred airline on the Bulgarian market and the winner is determined by an online voting of the passengers and the travel agents and evaluation by an internationally recognized expert jury. The nominees for the award in the same category were Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines.

The national carrier also won the “Most preferred airline on short and middle flights to/from Bulgaria” (Sky short/middle haul) award. “Thank you for the award. We don’t receive it for the first time, which means that we are actually offering a good product that we constantly strive to develop and upgrade. None of this would have been possible without the help of our partners, some of whom are here today. We believe that success lies in maintaining good cooperation, therefore we, from Bulgaria Air, do not accept the other airlines as competitors, but as partners”, said Maria Stoyanova – Commercial Director of Bulgaria Air.

The winners in each category are determined on the basis of an online survey among the passengers and professionals in Bulgaria. It was voted by 6101 people from 147 towns and villages and 255 experts from the tourism business. Turkish Airlines, Emirates, Lufthansa, KLM and other airlines also received awards at the ceremony. Special awards were also given to the best travel agents, and Bulgaria Air surprised one lady who was among the participants in the Sky Awards survey. She was drawn at random and won two free round-trip flight tickets to a destination chosen from the Bulgaria Air portfolio. The gift of the airline was also part of the initiatives with which the national carrier celebrated its 17th birthday. All the passengers onboard Bulgaria Air aircrafts yesterday received special vouchers with a 17% discount on their next fight. Although the occasion is over, the celebrations continue today and tomorrow. Anyone who congratulates the airline’s birthday on booking a flight ticket on the 5th and 6th of December will also receive a 17% discount.

The Sky Awards are held annually in early December as part of the Sky Day Forum, which is organized to commemorate the International Civil Aviation Day. This year the theme was “Caring and customer satisfaction”.
