Captain Boyko Ichev interviewed about the pilot’s work in the morning show of Bulgaria ON AIR
Captain Boyko Ichev was the guest of Bulgaria ON AIR’s show “Bulgaria Sutrin” on January 11th, 2024. Before the presenters in the studio and the TV viewers, Captain Ichev described the difficulties of the pilot’s profession and the recognition it provides. Currently, there is a demand for pilots in the aviation sector, while the job is one of the most popular among young people. Civil aviation is on the rise, in general.
“The job requires a strong desire, you have to feel it. Besides, one needs particular motivation and iron will.”, Captain Boyko Ichev said on the show of Bulgaria ON AIR. The conversation revealed the meaning of being a pilot, what characteristics allow you to become a pilot in command and how women cope with this prestigious profession. According to the experienced pilot, there is no division between men and women in operating flights anymore.
“Ladies perform excellently. We have magnificent women pilots. I would catch a flight with women-only crew with no worries at all. It doesn’t matter if you are a man or a woman when it comes to making decisions and prioritizing tasks. Women are very successful in our job, the same way that many ladies drive cars excellently.”, the pilot states categorically.
The technical progress in aviation and the developing world constantly provide new aircraft technologies. If your dreams fly in the skies and you would like going to work 10 thousand meters up, you might be interested in joining the team of pilots of the national carrier.
At the beginning of 2024, Bulgaria Air announced job vacancies for experienced pilots and opportunities for flight attendants. Candidates can find out about the requirements and the job description on the Careers section of the website: https://www.air.bg/en/about/careers/
