“It is such an honour and a privilege to fly an Airbus A220-300 – one of the world’s most innovative aircrafts”, Captain Radoslav Vasilev shares in an interview for the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency
“For me, to fly is to see a dream come true. But career growth in aviation requires perseverance and discipline.”, Radoslav Vasilev – Airbus A220 pilot at Bulgaria Air – states in an interview for the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency.
He started flying 20 years ago but still remembers the excitement of his first independent flight which he operated on a small ZLIN 143 aircraft departing from Gorna Oryahovitsa Airport.
“Pandemics had a heavy impact on aviation. As a national carrier, Bulgaria Air never stopped flying. I was one of the few pilots who continued working. However, there were situations that I won’t forget. Visual approach landings were authorised at Amsterdam Airport – a huge facility with six runways. In a regular situation, this would be nearly impossible. Although the recovery is slow and hard, the aviation is experiencing a revival. Being a high-tech sector, catching up is pretty quick. Currently, the industry is growing at a rapid pace.”, the captain shared with BTA.
Asked about flying the new Airbus A220-300, Radoslav Vasilev states that the airplane is extremely modern and up-to-date, with improvements in each system. The experienced pilot of the national career declares that operating this plane is a matter of both pleasure and pride.
