Senior cabin crew member Dana Prihova interviewed about the work of the cabin crew and aviation safety
The in-flight service manager of the national carrier, senior cabin crew member Dana Prihova was the guest of the show “Tazi Sutrin” aired on bTV on January 4th, 2024. The TV interview was dedicated to the aviation safety standards and the evacuation procedures on board to be performed in case of accident. According to the international aviation community, timely actions of the cabin crew on board is what can prevent victims, in most cases.
Dana Prihova described the responsibilities which a member of the cabin crew on Bulgaria Air aircraft has, highlighting the authenticity of the practical training of the new flight attendants, performed in a full flight simulator at the training centre Sofia Flight Training.
“Simulations are similar to real situations and we can train our reaction in cases of smoke, fire, decompression, evacuation. The evacuation procedure has to be performed in not more than 90 seconds mandatory, no matter if the aircraft has the capacity of 100 or 200 passengers”, Prihova said.
At the beginning of the year the airline announced new job vacancies for experienced pilots and opportunities for flight attendants. Candidates can find out about the requirements and the job description at the Open Day which will take place on January 8th, 2024, at 10 am at the premises of the national carrier at 1 Brussels Blvd., Sofia.
“To begin with, flight attendants undergo a training of at least one full month. After this mandatory training, they might acquire rights to act as professionals. Afterwards, there are annual refresher courses, both practical and theoretical, which aim at keeping us mentally ready to act in a risky situation”, the senior cabin crew member and instructor for Bulgaria Air added.
