The sixth new Airbus A220-100 aircraft has arrived to Bulgaria Air
On 18 December 2024, Bulgaria Air welcomed its sixth new Airbus A220-100 aircraft, which bears the registration LZ-VIE, inspired by the name of the Austrian capital Vienna. This new aircraft is another step in the renewal of the national carrier's fleet, which aims to offer its passengers even more comfortable, economical and environmentally friendly flights.
The Airbus A220 family aircraft, which Bulgaria Air has been adding to its fleet since 2023, feature a spacious and quiet passenger cabin, an innovative lighting system, adaptive air conditioning and the largest baggage compartments in its class. In addition, they provide passengers with more privacy thanks to wider seats in economy class and large windows that provide a pleasant experience throughout the flight.
The new LZ-VIE will be actively involved in the airline's domestic and international routes in Europe and the Middle East. It is of the A220-100 model, which has 110 seats in economy class and 8 seats for business passengers, while 80% of the seats are located next to the window or aisle. The technological machine offers on board a range of amenities for all passengers, comfortable leather seats, wider row spacing, and more cabin luggage space tailored to the needs of the modern traveller.
Bulgaria Air was among the first airlines in Europe to put its trust in the Airbus A220, ordering a total of seven aircraft of this model in two models - A220-100 and A220-300. With the arrival of the sixth machine in December, the airline is upgrading its core fleet to deliver the flying programme and putting its drive for modernisation and sustainability into practice. The new aircraft have up to 25% lower fuel consumption and reduced emissions, which meets the company's ambition for a greener future.
After the official arrival of the LZ-VIE, the aircraft will undergo a short certification process and will be included in Bulgaria Air's regular flight program. The airline remains committed to the perfect comfort of its customers, and will continue to offer state-of-the-art convenience and high quality services in 2025.
The national carrier strives to provide its passengers with the best and most comfortable conditions for enjoyable flights with its modern Airbus A220 aircraft, by which the compnany has been operating a major share of its scheduled routes since 2023.
