Bulgaria Air connects Sofia and Grenoble for the first time in history
In early 2025, the national carrier will operate three flights between the Bulgarian capital and the French ski resort.
For the first time in January, a direct air connection was established between Sofia and the beautiful French ski resort of Grenoble. This became possible thanks to a charter flight from Bulgaria Air and the travel agency „Rapsody Travel“. The flight took place on 11 January, and two more flights will take place before the end of the month - on 18 and 25 January 2025.
Grenoble Airport celebrated the arrival of the first flight from Sofia with a special welcome for Bulgarian tourists on their first step on French soil. They were pleasantly surprised by the gesture at the French airport.
Pierre Marnotte, Director of Grenoble Alpes Isère Airport, said: “I am delighted with the launch of this new charter service between the airports of Sofia and Grenoble, operated by Bulgaria Air. This route will enable Bulgarian winter sports enthusiasts to enjoy the French Alps. VINCI Airports has been managing Grenoble airport since 2004, and its aim is to help foreigners discover our beautiful landscapes and contribute to the region's dynamism, as this new route between two European countries demonstrates.“
Maria Stoyanova, General Manager of Charter Operations and Aircraft Leasing at Bulgaria Air, said: „We are a trusted partner of the Bulgarian travel industry and offer high-quality charter operations, with excellent service and attention to each passenger. We hope that flights to Grenoble will contribute to the development of the sector and provide new horizons for Bulgarian travellers."
