The Change in the Conditions of Entry into Israel will Come into Force from 1 January 2025.
Dear passengers,
We would like to inform you that the effective date of the new conditions of entry to Israel, introduced by the local authorities this summer, has been changed. The national carrier posted an announcement on its website in late June related to the Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA-IL) requirement for visa-exempt countries such as Bulgaria, which was to take effect on August 1, 2024, following a pilot period that began on July 1.
In response to numerous international requests for a revision of the implementation date of the new requirement for incoming foreigners and tourists, the Israeli administration conducted a thorough review and decided to extend the pilot period by another five months. The ETA-IL requirement for visa-exempt countries, which includes our country, will now take effect on January 1, 2025.
During this period, all airlines from around the world carrying passengers to Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion International Airport, including Bulgaria Air, will be able to use the additional time to prepare, coordinate and implement the electronic permits into the technology systems.
More information on all requirements, conditions and procedures for entry into the State of Israel can be found in the section of the Middle East country on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria HERE.
