Travel requirements to / from Italy
According to the Italian authorities’ provisions, restrictive measures for entering the country against Bulgarian citizens are:
1. All persons arriving from the C list countries (which includes Bulgaria) must present one of the following documents:
I. negative PCR test (done up to 72 hours before entry) or rapid antigen test (done up to 48 hours before entry).
II. one of the following "green certificates":
1. As from February 1, 2022, a completed vaccination course or booster dose against COVID-19 with one of the following vaccines:
- Pfizer-BioNtech
- Moderna
- Vaxzevria
- Janssen (Johnson & Johnson)
- vaccines, given abroad recognized by Italian legislation /vaccines for which the marketing authorization holder is the same as in the European Union; Covishield (Serum Institute of India), manufactured under AstraZeneca license; R-CoVI (R-Pharm), manufactured under AstraZeneca license; COVID-19 vaccine-recombinant (Fiocruz), manufactured under AstraZeneca license/.
2. For illness, with expired quarantine period (valid for 6 / six / months of recovery)
3. for recovery after the first dose or after the completion of the primary vaccination cycle / booster dose.
Effective February 5, 2022, for persons with a green certificate of COVID-19 after completing a vaccination cycle or after a booster dose, the certificate becomes valid indefinitely.
For those who became ill and suffered from COVID-19 after the first dose of vaccine, the validity of the green certificate remains 6 / six / months.
If one of the above mentioned certificates is not presented, the person is a subject to a 5-day quarantine and a test after its expiration.
Note: a certificate certifying the administration of the first dose of a two-dose vaccine is not sufficient for entry into Italy from abroad.
Until March 31, 2022, the Maritime, Air and Border Health Services of the Ministry of Health may carry out, on a random basis, antigenic or molecular tests of travelers entering Italy at airports, sea and land. In the event of a positive molecular or antigenic test, the passenger shall be isolated for a period of ten days when required by Covid Hotels.

* Children under the age of 6 are exempt from the obligation to take a negative test for COVID. They are not subject to quarantine if the accompanying parent is released from quarantine due to a certificate of vaccination or illness.
* Persons over the age of 6 must present a negative test certificate. They are not a subject to quarantine if the accompanying parent is released from quarantine due to a certificate of vaccination or illness.
Mandatory quarantine is not provided for arrivals from C list countries, which includes Bulgaria, in case the person is vaccinated or has been ill.
From January 10, 2022 in Italy it is mandatory to get vaccinated against COVID-19 for all persons over 50 years of age.
All flights of the airline are performed in compliance with strict safety measures - disinfection with UV rays before flight and air purification with HEPA filters throughout the flight.
